The Last Penguin
This series
by Vincent J.F. Huang denote the analogy between the endangered penguins
and the Terracotta Army that was buried together with the late Qin Emperor.
Both were the sacrifies of the human civilisation. Mankind has always
endeavored to create a better life through science and technology. However,
their insatiable demand for fossil oil has since damaged the environment
and brought about calamities into earth. Environmental organizations estimate
that the number of penguin species has been reduced by 70% owing to melting
of their habitats caused by global warming. It is this sentiment that
inspired Vincent to portrait penguin in his newest series of "The
Last Penguin". Beside paintings of icy penguins in Terracotta Army
attire, Vincent has also created a series of sculptures to reproduce the
grandeur in 3D.

Vincent
J.F. Huang - The
artist's aspiration is to establish a univeral dialogue by revealing traits
of his intimate obsessions. The human being, though invisible, is at the
core of all his work. Modesty. Tenderness. Intuition. Rebellion too. But
also hope entangled in the net of forecasts of catastrophe. It is on the
canvas, in his sculptures and his installations, through the precise contour
of these shapes, that Vincent expresses the essence of his feelings.
